First time in South Tahoe

After more than 3 years living in the Bay Area it was finally time to go and spend at least a weekend in Tahoe! Really huge as everybody said, and even more beautiful I ever imagined! So many sports to do, not only skiing, but snowshoeing (that was the idea, but not enough snow), hiking, rock climbing, or just hanging out the cool bars and stores by the Heavenly village.

I loved the Van-Sickle bi-estate park. Great trails, not difficult or exhausting and awesome views to the lake from far away when you climb a nice boulder area and on the other side you get the mountains (and you get to see all the gondolas going up and down while hiking).

It is so close to the Heavenly village and the stores nearby that you won't believe after 5 minutes walking inside the park you get transporte to a really heavenly area of quietness and piece (only 'disturbed' by those skiers and snowboarders in the gondolas).

We missed the waterfall, maybe it was completely dried this year. We spent a couple of hours there, in total solitude, amazing that there were no other hikers around.

The weather was sunny yet cold and the trails looked easy enough for all family members, so I am surprised of that solitude. My first time in a bi-state park, which made the whole experience even more micro-adventure!
