Beautiful nursery-lost paradise in The Alameda, San Jose
The most beautiful nursery of interior plants and decorative objects in San Jose, from far! I am so pleased when I went yesterday and enjoyed a long time there, went to browse and ended up with 4 different wonderful exotic looking plants that makes me feel so good. I love being surrounded by plants, like so many of us (who does not like some greenery?) and I have passed by this store many times but for some reason (maybe were the Buddhas on display) I thought was one of those 'yogini ohm places'. This time, I was thinking I wanted to check out or maybe buy some plants and my the chip in my mind that collect info of cool places brought me there.
I was in awe when I realized the store is way bigger than apparent from the outside. You will see a surprise after another. It is truly an oasis of peace, joy, calm...I told the owners I want to live there! :). It has this tropical feel to it, Asian fusion. Never been to Thailand or Vietnam or any of those Asian countries I would like to visit one day, but just seeing the super cool parrot flying around and the varieties of deity like statues and the foliage everywhere, plus the awesome lighting you get immersed in a parallel reality...from dry San Jose to humid, fresh and luscious jungle somewhere.
This is a family business and I had the pleasure to talk to both brother and sister. I became instant fan of the interior designer/plant designer (the brother). Both super friendly, started this business 10 years ago and he does mostly designs for houses. If i had a house and space I would definitively hire him to make my dreamy living areas green and wonderful.
I spend less than $100 for my 4 exotic plants, I think that is a good price. Not as cheap as Home Depot, but honestly the experience is not comparable. Go and bring a book with yourself...maybe you fall asleep at the secret 'room' with drapes and curtains and lamps and pillows.
